Inside Sales Account Manager

The Opportunity:

X-Chem is seeking an Inside Sales Account Manager to strengthen our team and drive business development and sales to clients and partners. The Inside Sales Account Manager will work as part of X-Chem’s Business Development team and report to the Vice President of Sales Operation. Primary responsibilities will be to source new business by identifying new business opportunities and driving collaboration with customers. The Inside Sales Account Manager position will be home based. Some travel to X-Chem’s sites in Waltham, MA required.

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for client outreach, assessment of inbound requests and evaluation of new business opportunities. The Inside Sales Account Manager will work closely with members of the Business Development team to identify new opportunities and support their effective progression. The Inside Sales Account Manager will be an important contributpor to maintain a strong and consistent pipeline of sales opportunities. The position is home-based. Some travel to X-Chem’s sites in Waltham, MA in support of targeted business opportunities and internal meetings required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Identify prospective partners and clients through research and systematic outreach by phone, email and other channels.
  • Generate and manage pipeline opportunities through the first phases of the sales cycle and lead discovery and demonstration meetings.
  • Respond to in bound requests for information.
  • Use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and sales tools, to appropriately manage contacts, opportunities, leads, pipeline,and processes
  • Master a fundamental technical understanding of X-Chem’s capabilities and services.
  • Complete requested administrative reports on a timely basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (biology, chemistry, biochemistry or other science or technical discipline required)
  • 3+ years of experience of working in the Life Sciences environment

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of small molecule drug discovery and pre-clinical development process
  • A committed learner, curious and eager to increasing knowledge and skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Motivated and driven; strong work ethic

Working Conditions:
Up to 10% travel required. Flexible working environment and use of home office is standard. Light physical activity performing nonstrenuous daily activities.
